Expert voices - Walker guest house

Series: Creative / Production / Post

Surrender Pictures is proud to present this episode of Expert Voices for Sotheby’s, spotlighting the iconic Walker Guest House—an architectural masterpiece by Paul Rudolph. Commissioned by Dr. Walter Willard Walker and completed in 1952, the house is celebrated as a landmark of modernist design, seamlessly merging innovation, simplicity, and functionality.

Featuring insights from Walker family member Tian Dayton and Pulitzer Prize–winning critic Paul Goldberger, the film explores the home’s striking adaptability and lasting cultural significance. Once voted one of the most important houses of the century by Architectural Record readers, the Walker Guest House now returns to the spotlight as a centerpiece of Sotheby’s Important Design Sale.
