Oprah Winfrey - For Women By Women

Commercial: Creative / Production / Post

Led by Oprah Winfrey, and featuring philanthropist Agnes Gund along with Kate Windsor, acting Head of School at Miss Porter’s, Surrender  produced this piece in partnership with Sotheby’s to shine a light on the inequities that women experience in the art world and discuss their shared belief in the importance of art and arts education. By Women, For Tomorrow’s Women is the first all-women artist benefit auction at a major auction house and features works by ground-breaking artists such as Cecily Brown, Carmen Herrera, and Pat Steir.

  • Surrender Pictures partnered with Sotheby’s to produce a mission-driven editorial film led by Oprah Winfrey, highlighting the first all-women artist benefit auction at a major auction house. The project centered on equity, representation, and the importance of arts education.

The film was designed to elevate the purpose behind the auction while amplifying the voices shaping its mission.

  • Surrender handled production and post-production, capturing a conversation-driven narrative featuring Oprah Winfrey, Agnes Gund, and Kate Windsor. The approach emphasized credibility, warmth, and editorial restraint.

Post-production focused on shaping a clear, focused story aligned with Sotheby’s institutional tone and cultural programming.

  • The film supported Sotheby’s auction marketing, press outreach, and digital editorial platforms. It also functions as evergreen advocacy content, reinforcing Sotheby’s leadership in cultural and mission-driven initiatives.
